Our Story

We long for authentically local cuisine and travel experiences.  

Everything started at a conventional market in the heart of Madrid's ancient district. The inaugural Devour Tour served as both a means of promoting the city's struggling mom-and-pop stores and an in-depth exploration of Madrid's dynamic culinary scene.

Founder Lauren Aloise was disheartened by the failing local market during the worst of the recession, when half of the stalls had closed. Her initial excursions brought to light the challenges of maintaining small enterprises' relevance in a Madrid that was changing rapidly.

Upon visiting and forming friendships with local vendors, Lauren's initial Devourers witnessed an alternative aspect of the city. Our tour partners were equally enthusiastic to impart their knowledge and experiences to inquisitive tourists.
